Meet Our New Digital Marketing Executive
Leaving University and being cast out into the “real world” will always be daunting. Being a fresh graduate myself and not knowing much about the different roles within marketing I was worried about choosing the wrong career path and being stuck doing something I hated. After scrolling through countless job listings, I was beginning to lose hope of finding the perfect role for me – until I stumbled upon the opportunity at Summit.
I’m not even sure where to start in sharing the incredible experiences I’ve had during my first six weeks at Summit, but the beginning would probably be a good place to start.
First impressions
From day one, everyone I’ve met has given me the warmest welcome and supported me in my quest for knowledge. The cheerful vibe in the office brightens those dull mornings and makes you not dread the day ahead, which I know we’ve all had our fair share of! It has been so refreshing to work in a company that cares about you as an individual and where you feel like your contributions matter. Seeing the Owner and CEO so involved with every level of staff made me know I’d made the right decision in choosing Summit.
The Performance Team
The performance team has been my anchor in this journey, from taking their time to go over my training as many times as I needed to, to answering all my silly questions (which I’m assured are not silly at all). I truly couldn’t have made this much progress in my short time here without their support. And work aside, just the team taking me to their favourite lunch spots and making the effort to get to know me made me feel so valued as the newest member of the team.
Summit events
Another highlight of my time at Summit has been the variety of work events I’ve had the chance to participate in. Welcome drinks and team lunches or even after-work quizzes are just some of the brilliant events I have been able to attend in my first few weeks here at Summit. They have been a brilliant opportunity to meet people outside of my team and a chance to make some genuine friendships. I am looking forward to many future events here at Summit, especially the Oscars which looks like an amazing way to recognise and celebrate all the hard work everyone puts in.
Advice for new Summiteers
- Ask questions – As I’ve been told many times, no question is a silly question! Whether you want to know something about your role or different parts of the business there will always be someone who can help
- Don’t be shy – Go to all the events and talk to people outside of your team. Everyone is really nice and it’ll help you settle in straight away
- Stay organised – Things can get pretty busy, especially during peak, so keeping your to-do list up to date is essential
- Most importantly – DON’T FORGET TO LOCK YOUR LAPTOP!
I have nothing but good things to say about Summit and I am looking forward to developing my professional career alongside such an exceptional team. I wholeheartedly recommend Summit to anyone who is looking to apply, especially fellow graduates like myself who are eager to launch their careers in the marketing industry. Here are the current job roles and where you can send your CV!
