Summit employee shortlisted for 2019 Hull & East Yorkshire People in Business Awards

A Summit employee has been shortlisted for an award at the 2019 Hull & East Yorkshire People in Business Awards

Competing against the best talent in the region, Immy Hussain, Affiliate Manager (Commerce) at Summit has beat the competition to make the official shortlist for the Above and Beyond award.

Recognising and rewarding both businesses as a whole and their individual employees, the brand-new awards encompass companies from all areas of work, across all industry sectors.

The Above and Beyond award recognises those who consistently exceed expectations and go beyond their set job requirements. Sustaining excellence in their overall job performance, they demonstrate a co-operative, positive attitude and are dedicated to making a different in the workplace.

Immy commented: “My nomination was a real surprise as working above and beyond comes naturally to all of us here at Summit. I am however very proud to have been shortlisted, massive thank you to Adrienne Burns and Hannah Scaife for nominating me.”

Founder of the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards, Jo Fleming, said: “There have been some outstanding entries from businesses of all shapes and sizes, and everyone who entered should be really proud of themselves.

“Narrowing down the shortlist was a difficult task, but we believe that we’ve chosen the best of the best that have the potential to be worthy award winners.

“Supporting talent in the workplace is essential, and the Hull & East Yorkshire People in Business Awards give both individuals and businesses as a whole the chance to gain recognition for their hard work.”

Those shortlisted will now be judged by a panel of high-profile local business people, which have been selected for their wealth of experience in their chosen industry.

Taking place on Friday 12th July at the Doubletree by Hilton, Hull, the Hull and East Yorkshire People in Business Awards is sponsored by Wilberforce College, and has a number of special guests in attendance to enhance the theme of success within business. This includes 2008 Apprentice winner Lee McQueen, who will serve as compere for the evening.

Key note speakers Rob and Paul Forkan will also be present on the night to tell their inspirational story of overcoming adversity after being left orphaned by the 2004 tsunami.
